Environmental Club

There is a very active environmental programme at Hillel, referred to as "HELP" - Hillel Environmental Learning Programme. The activities surround the theme of saving the planet which is accomplished though tree planting, recycling for life and "converting trash to treasure." There are two groups - one for the Prep School and the other for the High School. The Prep's Environmental Club is in its second year with the guidance and supervision of the JET's School Environmental Programme. The club was commended for its project on Watersheds, and received a second place award for Protect the Environment Trust for Plastic recycling. In 2009 the club was a national finalist in the Jamaica Environmental Trust’s schools competition.
